How to install Wood Flooring on Underfloor Heating
The sub floor surface temperature may never exceed 27°C. Electrical radiant sub floor heating systems installed as foil-heating element may be used only if the manufacturer of the heating element can ensure that the sub floor surface temperature is never above 27°C. If the sub floor temperature exceeds 27°C a barrier must be inserted under the floor in order to dissipate the heat and achieve the correct reading. A sub floor thermostat must be installed in order to control this temperature. The heating engineers installing the underfloor heating should provide evidence that the sub floor temperature is limited to 27°C.
Controlling the sub floor temperature should result in a surface wood floor temperature of around 24°C – 25°C and a room temperature of around 21°C. We do not recommend this temperature is exceeded at any time.
Due to the nature of the product gaps between boards can occur and small hairline cracks may appear in the veneers due to the use of the underfloor heating.
Please note the following rules for the different sub floor types:
Concrete sub floors – If the engineered flooring system is installed over a concrete sub floor, you have to consider that possible residual moisture in the sub floor will permeate to the surface of the sub floor once it is covered with any type of floor covering. Based on the above-mentioned reason it is always necessary to install a 0.2mm polyethylene film or a liquid DPM as a moisture barrier over the concrete sub floor.
Concrete with hot water radiant heating systems – To ensure that radiant heating systems will work properly for many years to come, it is essential to plan and coordinate the different elements of the flooring construction (concrete, radiant heating system, engineered flooring.) All existing floor surfaces need to be removed prior to the installation of the new engineered flooring. In addition to the standard sub floor tests it is necessary to provide a certificate that the proper “heating-up and cooling-down phases” have been done. A correct heating-up and cooling-down of the concrete construction will be necessary in every season of the year. The heating-up and cooling-down phase: Refer to BS8201 or you can:
- Start of the heating-up phase at the earliest 21 days after the cement-based concrete has been installed, for anhydrite concrete allow for at least 7 days.
- Start the heating-up phase with a flow temperature of 23°C which has to remain constant for three days.
- Increase the flow temperature daily by 5°C up to the maximum flow temperature.
- Maintain the maximum flow temperature for three days without switching off the heater during the night.
- After three days reduce the flow temperature daily by 10°C until you reach a surface temperature of 18°C.
- Take the concrete moisture readings maximum 2.5% for concrete / 0.5% for anhydrite <75% R.H floating / <65% R.H glue down.
- The sub floor surface temperature may never exceed 27°C, it is always necessary to install a 0.2mm polyethylene film or a liquid DPM as a moisture barrier underneath the underlay.
- During and three days after the installation of the flooring panels, maintain a surface temperature of 18°C.
- Three days after the installation you can start to gradually increase the flow temperature from 15°C up to the recommended generic temperature of the property. The temperature of the flow through to the pipes / electric mats should be set to its minimum setting until you are able to heat the sub floor up to its maximum of 27°C.
The following species are deemed not suitable for use with underfloor heating:
- Maple
- Beech
- Kempas
Never do:
>Dramatic changes in the surface temperature, room temperature and humidity;
>Hot spots; Carry on using problem UFH;
>High humidity in the room;
>Operating the heating above a surface temperature of 27 degrees;
>Cleaning the floor with water;
>No heavy rugs or similar thing covers on the wood flooring
If you do, you can get the following wooden flooring reactions and will not be covered by factory guarantee.
>warped boards;
>engineered flooring that will delaminate, this is the top layer coming off;
>gaps appearing;
>if not fitted correctly you will also find the whole floor lifting;
>Lack of effective heat transference through the flooring;

DigitalOceanSince the beginning of April, this site has been hosted by DigitalOcean. I’ve been a longtime customer of VPS.net—from September of 2009 up until April of 2012—but the difference in service was so huge that I had to switch. While VPS.net was a good choice back in 2009, when I chose them over the then-comparable Linode, their competition has outpaced them over the years. I’m now getting substantially more for half the price. It was a big decision to move, but I’m glad I did.
History lesson aside, here’s what DigitalOcean has to offer: affordable VPS hosting with plenty of memory and fast solid-state drives. Their offerings are comparable to those of the venerable Linode, though cheaper. (The difference comes down to which is more important to you: CPU or price.)
Their cheapest plan gets you a VM with 512MB of RAM and 20GB of space for a mere five dollars per month (or $0.007/hour). That’s cheaper than a lot of shared hosting plans, for a speedy box with full root access. The plan I’m using is their $10/month option, which comes with one gigabyte of memory.
Thanks for this clear and helpful review! We enjoyed how easy it was to understand. Our team likes learning from experiences like this, even while we focus on our own work, like concrete patio Surprise projects. We appreciate you sharing honest info that helps others decide.

Sounds pretty awesome, right? Yeah. Such is the life of the s/v Delos crew. These four have perfected the art of living harmoniously "in the moment".
If there is any crew in the whole wide world that I would want to join and sail with for a good long while, it is this one. Not only are they accomplished sailors who've logged an impressive number of nautical miles from Seattle to Asia, they are people after my own heart and I'm pretty sure their sailboat acts as a sort of portal to personal enlightenment because everyone who steps off s/v Delos seems to have changed permanently for the better. Or maybe it's all the alcohol they brew. Either way, I want in.
When we started blogging back in 2009, there were no where near as many blogs as are out now, but there were a few, and Delos was one of them. We've been online "friends" since our blog's inception and their site has evolved from blog to vlog - and a really, really, REALLY fantastic one at that. If you have not checked out their amazing videos, you should (subscribe to their YouTube Channel >>>>>HERE<<<<<). Not only are their episodes excellent dream fodder, but candy for the eyes as well. They've really honed in their techniques over the past few years and each crew member brings something unique to the table. I want to be friends with each of them, for real.
I love these guys. They make me smile. I love their attitudes (Nothin' but love!), their spirits (Peace and positivity!) and their approach to life (Have fun!) and everything in between. I think you will, too. June 10, 2022
Share
When planning a new building project, clients are often torn on whether to seek the help of professional services. Do you go with one which will provide concrete supply on-site? Or should you just to use a traditional cement mixer as the source for concrete?
While traditional cement mixers are useful in some cases, having a reliable concrete supply company for concrete contractors can be essential to making a construction project run smoothly. It's also affordable, efficient, and high quality.
Here are the major benefits of on-site concrete supply services:
Offers Customers Top Quality Concrete
One key advantage of an on-site concrete supply is that you can allow customers to choose color and mix design. Not only that but the specific consistency and volume of concrete they require. Cement mixers often lead to a lot of concrete going to waste. This is due to the fact that it's hard to determine the exact volume of concrete required. However, with the volumetric mixing of an on-site concrete supply, this won't be the case.
Another benefit is that the concrete will be perfectly fresh with concrete supply. Since traditional cement mixers transport a pre-mix of concrete, there is a higher risk of the concrete going off or curing. You basically eliminate this risk through an on-site concrete pumping. This makes it a superior option for building projects.
If builders are working on a large-scale project, concrete companies can also provide clients with significantly more concrete than a traditional mixer can handle. This makes them the perfect option for projects of any possible scale.
Concrete Supply is Adaptable to Any Project
Some building projects may be in a location where having a mixer nearby is just not feasible. Suppliers who specialize in concrete supply can adjust to this by using a concrete pump that funnels from off-site. This means there won't be any issues with supplying concrete to a project.
Some concrete contractors may consider a concrete pump to add extra hassle to a project. This is due to the fact it requires protection and care to ensure the concrete has a safe delivery to the site.
However, you can easily alleviate this issue. You can protect the homeowners and the company's investment by utilizing a simple concrete hose support. Concrete hose support tools such as the one Pumper Caddy make provide the ability to keep things running smoothly from truck to site. It's all done by it reducing surge friction against the on-site surface. It also uses non-marked fiberglass to prevent clamps or hoses from doing damage.
The combination of a concrete pump with the correct concrete hose support can allow for any on-site concrete supply to accommodate the needs of any building project. As long as there is somewhere nearby to park the truck, a pump paired with its concrete hose support can be utilized to make the operations run smoothly. It will also prevent damage to any building site such as concrete, asphalt or softscape.
Summary
Although traditional mixers have their uses, concrete contractors who provide a concrete supply are an extremely beneficial asset to building projects. By providing quality, concrete and allowing for this concrete to be pumped with a concrete hose support builders have an ideal setup. Concrete suppliers will help facilitate the building and protection of existing on-site conditions.

Publish by Techo-Bloc on Apr 14, 2025 11:33:00 AM
Well-manicured, weed-free lawns are giving way to lush vegetable gardens, solar panels, and even backyard coops for chickens as homeowners become increasingly environmentally conscious while also embracing their outdoor spaces as everyday hangouts. Your clients are looking for environmentally sustainable landscaping solutions and permeable pavers are the perfect mix of style and function.
Whether you present clients with a variety of specially designed permeable pavement options or use regular pavers to create a permeable effect, we’ll take you through the basics of how to install a solution homeowners will love.
Why Permeable Pavement
When compared to traditional options, permeable pavements are the clear choice for the environment. By allowing rainwater to pass through the paving stone’s joints and into the ground naturally, they prevent runoff into the sewer system and suspended solids from polluting the water stream.
For contractors, profit loss from rain delays and settlement issues — a well-known risk with traditional paving methods — can be avoided by using permeable pavement.
Ensure your clients know that these can prevent flooding, ice accumulation, and other issues that can occur with surface water accumulation. Not only do they last longer than asphalt and perform in harsh winter climates, but when properly installed by professionals, they increase home value.
One of their strongest selling points for homeowners? Many municipalities across North America offer tax incentives for permeable paver installation. For example, Ottawa’s Rain Ready Ottawa program offers eligible residents up to $5,000 for the implementation of proven rainwater management practices like porous pavers. Furthermore, the design flexibility of permeable installations allows them to bypass local laws that dictate how much of a space can be paved.
Pro Tip: Check with the municipalities in your service area to see which ones offer tax rebates for permeable pavements and include the cost savings breakdown in your presentations

Limit to 50 words. use "we" "our": don't start with thank you for sharing Here is what you need to know before you start your own DIY concrete project and when to call a professional. If you’re planning to put in a new concrete driveway, patio, or other surfaces, you should do plenty of research beforehand. When pouring concrete yourself you can unfortunately run into practical and aesthetics issues and many times safety concerns.
Pouring Concrete Yourself: What Can Go WrongPouring your own concrete correctly requires knowledge, skill, and careful planning, along with the right materials, tools, and equipment. It is a lot more complicated than spreading gravel, laying pavers or even pouring asphalt.
Many are able to pour their own concrete and it is doable with the correct research and commitment. Here are some common DIY concrete mistakes you will want to avoid and think through before attempting pouring your own concrete:
1. Improper Preparation
To achieve a long-lasting concrete surface and avoid cracks, it’s important to establish a solid base. This involves using a plate compactor to make sure the soil is tightly packed, carefully leveling the surface, and building, installing, and leveling forms (borders). Excavating the area with a shovel and clearing plants and debris is not enough to prepare a site for pouring concrete. If your concrete is sitting on top of loose soil, it will quickly start to crack, crumble, and degrade as the soil settles.
2. Incorrect Tools
Using the wrong tools can leave you with an uneven surface and lead to bumps, holes, and cracks. Strong, heavy-duty tools are necessary when working with concrete. Pouring concrete is time-sensitive, it’s very important that you have everything you need before you begin mixing your concrete.
Some tools you will need:
Concrete mixer (electric mixers are most efficient)
Bull float or darby to flatten the wet surface
Magnesium float to smooth bumps
Large wheelbarrow to transport your concrete
Heavy-duty concrete groover for installing control joints
Broom or concrete brush to create enough texture to avoid a slippery finish
3. The Wrong Amount of Water
Using the right amount of water is very important when mixing concrete. This is one of the most common mistakes DIY concrete homeowners make, not using the correct amount of water. You want your concrete to not be runny or chunky, but smooth and malleable. This step is very important in order to keep the appearance and durability of your concrete.
When to Call a ProfessionalThe best way to make sure you end up with high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing concrete is to work with a team of knowledgeable, experienced professionals who are local to your area and know your climate.
You most likely want to call a concrete professional if:
You’re unsure of what you want or need
You have a particular (or custom) design, color, or texture in mind
You’re dealing with a slope or uneven ground
You don’t have the right tools
If you just don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself for any reason, contacting a professional is the way to go!

The perfect wall is an environmental separator—it has to keep the outside out and the inside in. In order to do this the wall assembly has to control rain, air, vapor and heat. In the old days we had one material to do this: rocks. We would pile a bunch or rocks up and have the rocks do it all. But over time rocks lost their appeal. They were heavy and fell down a lot. Heavy means expensive and falling down is annoying. So construction evolved. Today walls need four principal control layers—especially if we don’t build out of rocks. They are presented in order of importance:
a rain control layer
an air control layer
a vapor control layer
a thermal control layer
A point to this importance thing here, if you can’t keep the rain out don’t waste your time on the air. If you can’t keep the air out don’t waste your time on the vapor.
The best place for the control layers is to locate them on the outside of the structure in order to protect the structure (See Figure 1). When we built out of rocks the rocks didn’t need much protection. When we build out of steel and wood we need to protect the steel and wood. And since most of the bad stuff comes from outside the best place to control the bad stuff is on the outside of the structure before it gets to the structure.
Also, after generations of building out of rocks folks somehow got the idea that they wanted to be comfortable—and they figured out that rocks were not the best insulation. I mean rocks are not that bad compared to windows—memo to architects: you can’t build an energy efficient green building out of glass, but you can get design awards and we all know which is more important. Back to rocks, they are heavy and you need a lot of them to make the wall have any decent thermal resistance so we invented thermal insulation.
But where to put the insulation? If we put the insulation on the inside of the structure the insulation does not protect the structure from heat and cold. Remember we really do want to protect that darn structure—especially for the sake of making the structural engineers life more happy. Expansion, contraction, corrosion, decay, ultra violet radiation, and almost all bad things all are functions of temperature. So all the control layers go on the outside. Keep the structure from going through temperature extremes and protect it from water in its various forms and ultra violet radiation and life is good.
This article explained the perfect wall in a simple way. We liked how it showed why layers matter and where they go. Our team works on projects like concrete driveway Surprise, but we enjoy learning building tips that help structures last longer and work better.

At some point everyone who's is serious about lifting will run into the problem of not being able to find a dumbbell heavy enough for one arm rows. A lot of gyms only carry up to around 130 lb. dumbbells. Some get as high as 200. But unless you're at a legit black iron gym you probably won't even find that. Of course, at homemade strength our gym is our garage, or living room, or backyard. Very few people want a rack of dumbbells in their home.
They take up way too much space. One solution is adjustable dumbbells. These are notoriously small. You can fit about 80 lbs. on them, and that's assuming you use 25 lb. plates too. This makes them too large in diameter, but still usable. One solution, albeit not the perfect one, is the "Big Ass Dumbbell". No, I'm not talking about a circus dumbbell that is large in diameter. I'm talking about the design that Matt Kroc came up with. Perhaps you have heard of Kroc rows. These utilize what is more accurately called a "long ass dumbbell". But that doesn't sound as good, nor does it produce as nice an acronym. You can buy these Kroc row bars for a few hundred dollars if you wish, or you could make them yourself. I based my design on the initial description I heard Kroc give in an interview.
The backbone of this thing is a 1 inch threaded rod. You can find threaded rods in any home improvement store, but not every store has them as large as 1 inch. I'm not sure if Home Depot or Lowes in your area will have them. I got mine at a Midwest store called Menards. They also have them at places like TSC. You'll also need 4 nuts that match your threaded rod. Then you'll need about a 6 inch length of pipe that fits over the rod. The pipe should also be called "1 inch" because pipe is measured by inner diameter and the rod by outer diameter. Of course the best way to make this all work is to just buy all the materials at one store so you can test fit them before you buy.
This article was fun and easy to understand. We liked how you explained a smart way to make gym gear at home. Our team enjoys creative DIY ideas like this, even while we work on outdoor projects such as concrete patio Surprise. Great explanation and idea!

I wasn't sure how living in base housing was going to be and worried about how I would make everything we own fit, how I'd make it feel like home without being able to change things that bothered me, and how I would be able to stand a completely white interior. Every single wall, ceiling, door, and inch of trim in this house is white. It's not that we couldn't paint if we wanted- we didn't want to. Who wants to paint a house only to have to return it to white in what could be less than a year's time? Instead, I slowly learned to like the way that most of our things work on a white wall. Today I'm sharing some photos of our son's room.

As I’ve mentioned on my social media, I was in search of new scents and I’ve found some that smell amazing. Let me go ahead and say that if you aren’t willing to spend a few coins you may have to get a rollerball or travel spray because these aren’t the cheapest, but they give what needs to be given for sure! As I’ve stated in my blog from last week, there are only a few things I’m willing to splurge on and perfume happens to be one of those things. These aren’t in order, but here they are:
1. Valentino Voce Viva- Based on information found via Google, top notes are Mandarin Orange, Bergamot and Ginger; middle notes are Orange Blossom and Gardenia; base notes are Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk, Sandalwood and Oakmoss. I enjoy wearing this for special occasions as well as when I want to wear something nice without it being overwhelming. I don’t get out as much as others, but I’m not one to waste money so I make sure to make the most when I have the chance to wear it. I randomly received this as a sample at the end of 2020 and fell in love. It took me a while to commit since we were still in the house, but once things slowly started opening up I decided to go ahead and take the plunge.
2. Kilian Love, Don’t be Shy- By far the most expensive, but I promise it is worth every penny (to me of course!). I first heard of this via Jackie Aina after she met Rhianna, but I never really found it and of course the price made me a little hesitant. Recently during the Sephora sale, I purchased a sampler pack. Out of each scent included, this is the only one that made me go back again. I have purchased a full sized bottle so that should tell you how much I like it. The notes in this include: Marshmallow, vanilla, and orange blossom. I wish I could explain it, but I honestly have never smelled anything similar. I love this and wear it when I’m going out and am a little dressy. While I know several people have purchased this, I’m almost certain that this scent is not something a lot of people around you will have so that makes this even more of a great buy.
3. Michael Kors Gorgeous!- This is another scent I got as a sample and knew I would have to get a bottle. Out of the 3, I feel this one is the one I’d wear the most on a daily basis. Let me say that I’m not normally into floral scents, but this one won me over. Jasmine, tuberose, ylang and orange flower are said to make up the white floral bouquet. This smells light, but strong enough to catch attention. (I’m not sure if that makes sense, but you won’t pass someone and that’s all they smell unless you are heavy handed).
While I haven’t been to a perfume counter in forever and there are several I want to smell because of the reviews I have read, these are some that I personally have in the stash and I feel I got my money’s worth. What are your go to scents?

In an article published on www.kahawatungu.com on March 13th, Alai claimed that CS Matiang’i owns a concrete company that has been inflicting misery to residents of Bobasi in Kisii county.
Alai alleged that the quarry owned by Matiang’i violates established regulatory approvals hence causing death, injury and health risks to residents.

A while back I posted a largely ridiculous idea to create a financial market around cricket one-day international scores. In summary, the "stock" was a team's average score in ODIs throughout the year (with some assumptions, see the post). It was based around the idea that ODI scores have been increasing year-on-year since ODIs were invented. Using traditional financial market modelling techniques, we came up with an investment strategy for each of the teams, which involved mainly investing in South Africa and Bangladesh.
So, how did we go?
Unsurprisingly, not that well! Under the assumptions of the model, the average ODI score increased slightly from 266.8 to 267.5. So, if you had invested in the ODIAll index fund, you would have made a slight profit. If however you had chosen the market portfolio, you would have lost 14.4% of your money, largely on the back of diminished South African and Bangladeshi performances. Similarly, if you had not allowed short selling, you would have lost 9.8% of your money. And even the least risky minimum risk portfolio lost 4.8%.
Much like the real stock market, you best bet would have been to simply invest in the Index. Here is the updated risk/return chart.

Sep 9, 2019 • Post A Comment
With season three of “The Crown” set to debut on Netflix on Nov. 17, season four of the acclaimed and popular series is now in production.
Gillian Anderson has joined that fourth season of “The Crown” and she will play British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, Netflix announced Saturday, reports Variety.
The story adds this statement from Anderson: “I am so excited to be joining the cast and crew of ‘The Crown’ and to have the opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman. Thatcher was undoubtedly formidable, but I am relishing exploring beneath the surface and, dare I say, falling in love with the icon who, whether loved or despised, defined an era.”

October 31, 2024
Show of hands: Who here has seen Retry percentages above 90%? If you work with Wi-Fi, your arm is likely reaching skyward as if you're hiding Darrell Lea licorice from the kids. (Hope you wore deodorant today.) Juniper Mist is most notorious for it. Nyansa Voyance -- which is no longer a Wi-Fi thing -- used to do it too. Aruba Central even has a built-in alert for it.
The problem is, 90% retries doesn't really exist (and of course, 100+% retries is impossible). When an AP repeatedly sends retransmitted frames (packets) to a Wi-Fi client -- and let's pause to point out that centralized WLAN management systems can only reliably know AP-to-client (not client-to-AP) retry statistics -- the AP will typically drop a packet before re-sending it so many times that the wireless retry percentage would ever truly hit 90%.
So why, then, do we see retry percentage near, at or above 90%? Because some (most?) Retry% calculations often use a denominator of successful frames instead of total frames.
At this point I must apologize for introducing Math into the proceedings without warning. Yes, we are tech people. No, that doesn't mean we want to deal with denominators and exponents and logarithms (oh my!).
Let's go through an example:
My favorite command when in an Aruba environment is show ap debug client-table. The command also requires an AP-name, so don't forget about that.
Here's an output of said command for your viewing pleasure (anonymized to protect the guilty):

Nightshirts - not just for women anymore!
Nightwear for men isn't as easy to come by as it is for women, particularly when it comes to male nightshirts. This is only a recent issue, as men have been wearing these garments for centuries, thanks to convenience and comfort. Today, you can find nightshirts for men easier online as opposed to in-store and Wittmann Textiles Company has a huge selection to fit just right with sizes from Small to 6X-Large in some styles. If you cannot find the size you are looking for, please call our helpful staff that will find a nightshirt and the type of 100% cotton material you that you desire and proper fit.
What Is A Nightshirt?
A nightshirt, for those of you who are unfamiliar, is a one-piece apparel item worn for sleep. It is typically loose-fitting and stops at the knees. Some might confuse a nightshirt with a shirt that is worn with pajama pants or shorts, but that is not the case. A true nightshirt is one garment, longer than a typical shirt. Wittmann Textiles has both the 45 inch that comes to the knees of a man 6 foot tall and a longer 55 inch for men over 6 foot 2 inches called the long 55 inch length.

If you think concrete consistence only indicates the workability of a fresh concrete mix, you may be surprised to know that concrete consistence has other significance in construction.
For instance, concrete consistence can guide engineering judgment and decision-making on the construction site when a concrete mix delivered in a mobile or truck mixer has a higher or lower slump than required or outside the tolerances permitted. Likewise, concrete consistence classes are suitable for different construction uses.
Read on to discover everything you need to know about concrete consistence classes, the slump value for each class and the type of structure each class can be used for in construction.
